DisneyÕs ÒStarStruckÓ Shines in Debut With 6.0 Million Total Viewers

 

ÒStarStruckÓ is TVÕs No. 1 Program in the Time Slot in Target Kids,

Doubling NBCÕs Olympic Coverage in Kids 6-11 and Tweens 9-14

 

ÒStarStruckÓ Lifts Disney Channel to New Time Period Highs in Tweens 9-14, and 2nd-Highest on Record in Total Viewers and Kids 6-11 

 

ÒStarStruckÓ (8:00-9:30 p.m.)

Disney ChannelÕs 78th original movie, DisneyÕs ÒStarStruck,Ó starring Sterling Knight, Brandon Smith (both of ÒSonny With A ChanceÓ), Chelsea Staub (ÒJONASÓ) and newcomer Danielle Campbell, the first to debut on a Sunday night, sparkled in its debut, becoming the netÕs most-watched February original movie premiere  in Total Viewers, Kids 6-11 and Tweens 9-14.

 

á       The dominant No. 1 TV program in its time period in key kids, ÒStarStruckÓ doubled NBCÕs Olympic coverage in Kids 6-11 (2.4 million vs. 1.2 million) and almost doubled in Tweens 9-14 (2.3 million vs. 1.2 million).

 

á       With its first-ever Sunday DCOM premiere, ÒStarStruckÓ generated Disney ChannelÕs highest numbers ever in the time period in Tweens 9-14 (2.3 million), and second-highest on record in Total Viewers (6.0 million) and Kids 6-11 (2.4 million), behind only 8/19/07 (ÒHigh School Musical 2,Ó encore 2).

 

á       ÒStarStruckÓ towered over year-ago time period levels, increasing by 88% in Total Viewers (6.0 million vs. 3.2 million), by 60% in Kids 6-11 (2.4 million vs. 1.5 million) and by 64% in Tweens 9-14 (2.3 million vs. 1.4 million).
