Brian Robbins is the executive producer of Disney Channel's comedy series "Sonny With A Chance."
Robbins began his career as an actor, appearing on several hit television series in the 1980s, including his role as Eric Mardian on "Head of the Class." He continued to write, produce and direct television shows and feature films, including the documentary "Hank Aaron: Chasing the Dream," which won a Peabody Award and was nominated for an Academy Award. Robbins also received a DGA Award for directing Nickelodeon's "Sports Theater with Shaquille O'Neal."
In 1996 Robbins and Michael Tollin founded Tollin Robbins Productions and, over the following 11 years, produced several popular television series, including "One Tree Hill," "Arliss," "The Amanda Show," "What I Like About You," "Kenan and Kel," "All That," "Smallville" and ESPN's miniseries "The Bronx is Burning." They also produced several feature films, including "Coach Carter," "Big Fat Liar," "Dreamer: Inspired by a True Story," "Summer Catch" and "Radio."
Robbins' box office hits include "Norbit" with Eddie Murphy; "Wild Hogs" with Tim Allen, John Travolta, Martin Lawrence and William H. Macy; "Varsity Blues”; "The Shaggy Dog”; "The Perfect Score”; "Hardball”; and "Goodburger," based on a popular skit from Nickelodeon's "All That." He is currently in post production on "A Thousand Words," starring Eddie Murphy.
Robbins resides in Los Angeles.
