Liv and Maddie
It's double the laughs in this new multi-camera sitcom about identical twins Liv and Maddie Rooney and their tight-knit family. The Rooney sisters have always shared a special bond and can't wait to reunite with each other when Liv returns home to Wisconsin after starring on a hit television show in Hollywood for the past four years.
Liv is a cool, confident, social butterfly who loves to sing, while Maddie is a smart, athletic, high school basketball phenomenon who prefers high tops over high heels. Complicating matters for the Rooney kids is having both parents work at their high school. Dad Pete is a P.E. teacher and girls' basketball coach, and mom Karen is a school counselor. Rounding out the family are younger brothers, Joey, a high school teenager who touts his own brand of cool, and Parker, a creative kid known for stirring up mischief.
With Liv home again, the twins are sharing the same bedroom, and it doesn't take long for Maddie to realize that small spaces can be confining, especially with a sister who's used to being in the spotlight. As Maddie continues to excel both at school and as the girls' basketball team's newly appointed captain, Liv can't resist inserting herself into situations where she feels Maddie could use a little "help." Though Liv and Maddie have wildly different personalities, dreams and aspirations, the bond between the sisters is unbreakable, and together -- with the help of their family – they’re able to accomplish most anything.
Starring are Dove Cameron ("Malibu Country," upcoming Disney Channel Original Movie "Cloud 9") as Liv and Maddie Rooney; newcomers Joey Bragg and Tenzing Norgay Trainor as younger brothers Joey and Parker Rooney; Benjamin King ("Scrubs," "NCIS") as dad Pete Rooney and Kali Rocha ("Grey’s Anatomy," "Modern Family") as mom Karen Rooney.
The series is created and executive-produced by John Beck and Ron Hart (both of "According to Jim"). Andy Fickman ("The Game Plan," "Race to Witch Mountain"), John Peaslee ("According to Jim," "Dog With A Blog") and Betsy Sullenger ("You Again") are also executive producers, and Fickman will direct episodes for the series.
"Liv and Maddie" is from It's A Laugh Productions, Inc. and carries a TV-G parental guideline.
